Its been a long time and Project Offguard is humming along fine now. We have the basics for the prototype up and ready, my comp, in all probability, will act as the interim server where the prototype will rest.
On the content front an animated series (video) and a regular feature on Books and Girls (blog/feature) have been agreed upon. The design will happen soon and I will share the first cut here.
We are very keen to leave the site (platform) open to programmers around the world to tinker with. Hack it, spruce it, change it, do whatever you feel like. So if there are any programmers reading this be ready for a juicy bit of code. I'll keep you guys posted.
I was reading this and realised that we have a very long way to go. A few things have been taken care of but a lot more needs to be done. Also I'm not very sure how the environment is in India, is a company formation just as imperative here as is around the world (for a startup that is)? Devang keeps stressing on the importance of networking but I'd be comfortable doing that once when the prototype is up and ready. Tangible is cool, innit?
I'll try and be prompt with my updates but a full-time day job and then the Project means I'm quite tied for time. Plus I've forgotten how to write well, very very rusty.

The deal so far
From Kompozer to Axure Pro (trial version), the wire frames have come a long way. Axure is quite a breeze and a colleague helped out with the basics so that's done. Arnab has a few inputs, Supriya will revert back post the 21st so we are heading firmly in the right direction. Vibhu has been consistently silent but that isn't a bother. Anyway, I am drafting a 'content call' mailer and sending it across to as many junta as I know, will put up a copy out here.
I'm wondering how to get readership onto this blog. As you'd have spotted ladies, this blog is for publicity only ;)

Somethings Change
I've always assumed that we were responsible for all the global warming mess we're facing. I also thought that there was a unanimous agreement on the broader aspects of this theory, that greenhouse gases wreak havoc on the delicate balance and that we could act to reverse this. So reading this has got me thinking.
On other more immediate issues, I have to create the mock ups for Project Offguard. I'm using Mozilla Kompozer to do it, seems to be working out quite well.

Search And Music News
Yahoo search seems to have improved a lot. The Search Assist function is very useful and attributes some intelligence to the user. Will they be able to leverage this further? Will they integrate Panama and the search to give advertisers a better concentration (of users)? Check out the new search at www.search.yahoo.com
In other news, I've been very pumped up by the dumping of record labels by artists. Am I right in concluding that the music created by the artist is not the property, rather it is the artist who is the property?

Back To The Basics
The first thing that springs to my mind, every time I start a new post, is a question 'Who do I write for?'. Being taught and brought around traditional media, I find it quite difficult to grasp the openness of the Internet. That last statement would've shocked many who know me. Anyway this blog isn't about me, it's about the things...other things. Not my life or my gadgets or other my things. It is also about poor grammar, of which I am full of. So if you do start reading this regularly and then spot all those niggling mistakes, please do let me know.
